Everyone have a blast! Long story but I'll be in St. Louis Friday afternoon thru Monday afternoon! Anyone need tix to the Field let me know and I'll get them for ya! Awesome exhibits on natural disasters and mythical creatures right now (not in the same exhibit though!) I'll miss everyone and have a blast and know that I would much rather be there...STL Pride can't compare to Chicago's I'm sure.
So much for the prefect weekend of Pride and WWChi...ah well...

Bummer! No Lindsay? There's barely any point to attending now.
BTW: Wizard World just posted the official programming guide. You don't need to print it out -- they'll give us a copy when we get there.
But, if you're like me, you'll print it out anyway, carefully circle everything you plan to attend, make full contingency plans in case the anime showings run long and conflict with panels, and worry about how impromptu lunches with fellow CBQers will impact the other events. Hopefully you're not like me.

What makes this worse is that Gail's going to be there...

Hey, I wanted to throw this out:
If wanted/needed I'd be happy to throw a shindig on Saturday or Sunday. I live in Andersonville, a very short walk to Hamburger Mary's/Mary's Attic (for food and good beer), @tmosphere (for the ladies), and the Eagle (for the boys with the whips and floggers). I'm very close to the 50 bus which can take you to Brainstorm and the 22 bus and redline that can take you to boystown.
I'm sure my brother would mix drinks (he's a mo too) (yes we live together, he has a Storm shrine, I have a Wonder Woman shrine, it's all good.) Maybe my sis will even be in town (my family is a Republican's nightmare come to life, my brother and I are gay and my sister's husband is black [we're pastey white] and they have two kids and we all get along incredibly well)
So, if there is interest, let me know!
this looks like a butthole
this looks like a blown out butthole
that's all I'm sayin'

MrVinegar, I had no idea you lived so close. All of your suggestions are spot-on.

Friday night, among other convention evening activities like the Japanese Oreskaband (an all girl ska/pop group) concert at 7:00pm, is a special Warren Ellis panel running 9:30 to around midnight, with an open bar. Doors open at 9:00, only the first 1500 are admitted.
I'll be there in line for probably 2-3 hours (unless the line is unaccountably short, in which case I may peek in at the Oreskaband, which I'd badly love to stay for if it weren't for Ellis). Any other Ellis fans who want to go, let me know; we can share the line experience, spell each other, ignore each other while reading the cheap trades we've bought, and have a geeky old time. Followed by free drinks.

Well, I need to check amtrak (even though they fucked up last time) about available trains and such but it seems as if I am going now. It actually would be cheaper driving then Amtrak last I checked but that aslo isn't including parking my car for the 3 day weekend either, even though it's sitting. So who knows, I'll know more tomorrow for sure.

Excellent. I expect we'll meet up sometime on Friday with the rest of the CBQers, but I'll PM you my cell # also.

You could probably park for free in the suburbs out from the city, if you're comfortable with your car not being in a monitored parking lot. If you park near a train stop, on the same line that your hotel is in, it would be as convenient as taking a train or plane in.

I'm going to just drive, and park my car in Andersonville, I know someone there that before when I visited him I just parked right by his place quite easily for free. So I'm going for sure, I'm really excited, I don't know if I'll go Friday or not to the convention though to see the podcast group.

Ok, maybe someone could help me with this. I have tried to download Adobe Acrobat and it will download for free and I did the register for it as well, and as soon as it opens it lets me look at for about ten seconds but then it tells me to buy Adobe or input my code. I can't look at the schedule for the weekend!

You might have downloaded from the wrong place on the website, and gotten the full Acrobat tool -- which can be used to create documents as well as read them -- rather than the Acrobat Reader.
You should be able to get the reader here. If it tells you you're on a Mac (which I was when I copied the link) click on the "Different language or operating system?" link on that page.
If, for some reason, that still doesn't work:
1) If you're on a Mac, the Preview program should let you read PDF files.
2) Otherwise, here's a list of free readers; one of them should do the trick.
