Wow, I didn't realize that was the weekend of October 8th. I'm in New York then, but for entirely unrelated reasons. Go figure.
(This mimics the 4 times I've been to Portland, at the beginning of September each time, before I discovered that they have an anime convention every year at the same time. This year, I'm going again and actually attending the con, so yaaay me!)
Btw, for those interested, the NYCC site is here: http://www.newyorkcomiccon.com/

I. WILL. BE. THERE. !!
I'm so amazed I'm actually leaving my bubble to do this! But, I NEED to meet Rich & Iz (BlueMeanie here on the boards & his wife...they're coming in from Wales!!). Plus the Geektress ladies will be there and they're hosting a party on Friday night!
Now...I just need to find a (cheap) place to stay. I'm going to start knocking on people's doors asking if I can crash on the floor. Seriously.

I'm trying to go, but it's unlikely.

I've been absent here for a while and I have no good reason for that. I'm just seeing this now.
I drove down to the con for opening day. My highlight was meeting and hanging out with Stevie for an hour or so. He's so damn adorable in person. Even more than in pictures, if it's possible.
The con was overwhelming for me. I only had Friday and I spent most of my time there meeting up with friends, so I didn't get to see half of it. I had a wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket and I barely bought anything. I'm already planning next year and hope to spend at least one more day there.

I dont know how I missed this thread - but I was so happy to run into Steve crossing the street on Saturday. I'd have been so bummed if I had read that you were here but didn't get to see you. Sorry I missed any other CBQueers who were in NYC.
My highlight this year was chatting with Phil Jimenez for about a half hour while he was working on a WW sketch. He's a brilliant guy with so many great ideas and insights.
Oh and I couldn't get over how the LGBT panel was standing room only! How awesome was that!

Walt...you're too kind! It was my treat to finally meet you in person after so many years on internet interaction! And who knew you were a giant!?!?
Dave - I'm so glad we did run into each other! I thought I was going to miss you, but fortunately fate didn't allow it!
