After all the cool stuff I saw (and, sadly, bought) at Wizard World Chicago, like my new 4-port USB hub Tardis,
I thought a thread for the cool geeky stuff that we get would be fun. Someplace to show off anything comicy, geeky, techy, cool, that you're all excited about getting. It can include comics (Amazing Spiderman #1, anyone?), sonic screwdrivers, hammers of Thor, Full Metal Alchemist pocketwatches, iPods, flatscreen TVs, Star Trek phaser remote controls, artist sketches, new scooters, Absolute Edition collections, etc. Anything that you loved getting and want to share. Pictures are encouraged.
This will doubtless induce others to purchase some of the same things -- really, who can resist a sonic screwdriver? -- so your post will become the gift that keeps on giving.

I don't smoke, but I bought a lighter in the shape of Kakashi's "Come Come Paradise." My god, I never felt so dorky in my entire life:

| Erm, I not too much into collectables. So I guess the only things I really should mention is Page Number 5 of The Waiting Place #4 (Vol. II). Which is one of my favorite single issue stories, Plus my Kabuki Hardcovers just make me incredibly happy. |

I personally spent exactly ten dollars at Wizard World. At a booth with a bunch of action figures that were 3 for ten dollars. I bought my boyfriend a trio of Babylon 5 action figures - Ivanova, Sheridan and Londo (because they totally didn't have any G'Kar, the bastards!)
But then my co-worker Sean called me from Wizard World on Saturday and asked if I needed him to pick anything up for me, so I had him buy me a bootleg set of the whole series of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends on 3 DVDs, which was totally worth the outrageous cost. That show is still just as bitchin' as I remember it! |

Posting that Hulkling/Wiccan figure set image on the other thread reminded me -- I'd promised someone to put the following up a while ago, and kept forgetting....
Back at Wizard World Philly, I got my first and last issues of Walt Simonson's Mighty Thor run signed by the man himself, and a couple of the ANTiFanboy crew stood in long line to get a Thor sketch from him for me, which was really nice of them. I was able to get them framed, and this is the result -- which also has the benefit of filling those hard-to-fit long narrow spaces. <ahem> On my wall.

Steve,
I remembered you having an interest in sonic screwdrivers... I just ordered one from Amazon as part of a non-Dr.Who Halloween costume I'm putting together, and discovered that this model (from Character Options, Ltd) is actually the source object for the current version of the Dr.Who sonic screwdriver. According to Wikipedia:
| Quote: | | In its first incarnation, the new prop was notoriously fragile and was prone to breaking at the slightest strain. The toy version (made by Character Options Ltd.) was slightly larger to accommodate a working pen (with swappable ordinary and ultraviolet ink nibs), sound effects and batteries. It also includes an ultraviolet torch for viewing messages written in the ultraviolet ink. The Doctor Who production team at BBC Wales were so impressed by how much more resilient the toy sonic screwdriver was than the real prop, that they asked for and obtained moulds of the toy to use in the 2006 series.[2] The new prop is 7 inches long, like the toy, as opposed to the 5.75 inch version of the 2005 series. |
As we all know, 7 inches is much better than 5.75, so I thought I'd mention it. The Amazon entry for that model is here, if you're interested.

I didn't buy these, but they're hysterical and I'm guessing someone here might:

I've got the TARDIS USB hub. Absolutely love it, and it makes my friends who don't get Doctor Who worry about me.

They're probably prone to worry because they don't have a Tardis to protect them. Whereas you and I are much safer and more relaxed.

Indeed.
Oh! wish this was mine, but it's not. A friend from another forum turned their voice controlled Dalek into a Roomba. They put brushes on the bottom of it and have it clean their kitchen. I'm so jelous.

Here is a picture of my Batman Alarm Clock that I purchased a few years ago. It has a Bat-Signal on it that displays the Bat symbol and the time underneath it on your ceiling as you sleep.

I have a roomba, and their great, but now I'm picturing it chasing the little bugs around the floor crying, "Exterminate! Exterminate!" Poor bugs.
The Batman clock is sweet. I'll have to mention that to a Batman-fan I know... maybe he can still dig one up somewhere.
