Comic Book Queers

A note before we get started:  The Scavenger is a continuity queen.  He deeply, deeply loves his Avengers comics, and he shows that love by tearing them to shreds at every opportunity.  Of course not every storyline can be his favorite, and the Scavenger forgives the team for their missteps (Deathcry?  Seriously?).  He is also willing to overlook those little plot hiccups that surface now and again (so, Zemo is alive again?), because he can usually tell that the Avengers’ exploits are being crafted by men and women who share the Scavenger’s love for their history.
Not so these days.  Thanks to a friendly push (followed by a forceful shove) from the lovely Saro Spice, the Scavenger has given up on the Avengers for the time being.  He simply does not believe that Mr. Bendis shares a love for the Avengers’ history.  Frankly, the Scavenger often doubts that Mr. Bendis has read an issue of the Avengers.   And even though BMB is the target of this week’s poisoned pen, he is hardly the only offender.  Presented for your enjoyment, this is a multi-part examination of those plot points that went completely off the rails.  This is An Anal History of the Avengers.

LESS EDITING! MORE QUIPPING!

The queers gather around and discuss their experiences at this year’s C2E2! You can be a fly on the wall for the drunken conversation between far too many queers. We have stevieD, PattyBoom, John, Joe, Sarospice, TonyL and joined by special guests Tony Breed (Charlie & Finn Are Hitched) and Steele a newbie comic reader whom we’ve pulled into the fold.

WARNING: This is another of those eps where you’ll want to keep your finger near the volume button. Sorry about that, but we are working on the sound issues.

I exploded six-page panels, in my dreams I sweat Kirby crackles and fanboy diatribe rung in my ears. Overdosed on comics, I might as well have been lying on the candy store floor clutching my swollen belly.

Sometimes it is better to not peer behind the curtain. If truth is subjective then why bother? I remembered something, in this long dizzy spell where I didn’t know what had happened to my love for the medium.

This week’s theme is “Buddies.”  Captain America was – is - a soldier, and soldiers know that sometimes, in the trenches, when it’s just you and the guy you’re counting on to watch your back… He knows that sometimes things happen.  Things you don’t need to explain.  Things you don’t need to feel ashamed of.  Things you and your buddy might get a couple hundred bucks for doing in front of a camera in a dingy hotel room.
